How I Discovered Aromatherapy

As a teen, my sister had been gifted a shower gel by our cousin sister who had come down from UAE. The shower gel looked beautiful! The fragrance was out of this world and could not be replicated. It was different and wasn’t like any typical fragrance like Rose or Vanilla (Although they are great). It was a blend of perfection. I’ve never been drawn to this extent towards a scent. The fragrance reminded me of my mom, although she never used the product before. It brought the feeling of safety, security and love. I was inclined to the shower gel and made a vow to buy it and have it for myself.

Now, my sister can be really selfish at times and would never allow me to use it. She knew I loved it and would use it generously. As soon as she walked out of the shower, the fragrance filled the house. It was heavenly. I could see that she enjoyed it. It made her feel relaxed and calm. Oh! how jealous I would get. I always wondered why I didn’t get one.

Either way, Over the years I forgot about the scent. Until recently, my boyfriend who was shopping in Dubai asked me if I would want something from Bath & Body Works. And immediately I remembered, ‘Moonlight Path’ and I rushed to call him. Sadly, the store didn’t have the scent as it was out of stock. My heart dropped. It wasn’t available online in Dubai and even in India. I researched and found out that there were discussions where many people couldn’t find it in their stores. People assumed that they had discontinued the product. I still tried my luck and texted their Instagram account, yet I didn’t get a clear answer they told me that it comes up secretly in their top offers. Until recently I tried Flipkart, it only had the fragrance mist . I was definitely skeptical initially but decided to go for it once I found the product.

It finally arrived and I am in LOVE. This is it. This is my scent. I am over the moon. I couldn’t believe that I finally owned it. It is mine. All mine! I can’t get over it. I never realised the power of fragrance until this particular scent. If this is what ‘aromatherapy’ is, then count me cured !
